Interactive Education

This is the first installment of several blogs which will be focusing on the benefits of Interactive Education and the products and services we offer.

In regards to learning Albert Einstein stated:

Any fool can know. The point is to understand.

Guiding learners to that true understanding, whether they are young children or adults, to incorporate some level of meaningful interaction. While methods of interaction are varied, one of the most purposeful educational mediums available today is interactive projection.

For many generations, the learning/education process was one of “sit and get.” In other words, the learners were stationary and passive while the teacher would fill their brains with all the information that they were later expected to remember and explain. While this method worked for the short term, the learning was rarely permanent or transitory enough to be applied in actual situations. Fortunately, the presence of interactions and interactivity in technology-based instructional materials have become synonymous with enhanced learning.

Encouraging learners of all ages to become active participants with the information is essential for the longevity and application of the learned information and skills; in fact, when the technology-based “…activity was planned and considered, students used higher levels of cognitive activity and achieved greater learning outcomes when compared to students who sought information through browsing or unstructured search strategies,” the much more traditional methods of knowledge acquisition.

Amplify provides the perfect blend of purposeful and exciting learning through motion tracking displays that permit children, students and teachers alike to connect with the projected material. Interactive projection permits students and instructors to reveal new layers of any subject, encouraging deeper discussions about that content. When this progressive format is combined with an educator’s expertise and repertoire of videos, pictures, and audio, students are far more likely to achieve the mastery of the information and skills that cannot be achieved through traditional avenues.

Whether the learners with which you work are pre-schoolers, students or adults, our interactive educational products will support their learning and development.

Interactive Education Technology

Over the past few years there have been many studies that have shown the positive benefits of adding technology to learning activities in schools. We also believe in the benefits of giving younger children opportunities to promote their learning and development through our interactive education technology which works alongside the Early Years Foundation Stage.

What is the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) ?

The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) sets standards for the learning, development and care of children from birth to 5 years old. All schools and Ofsted-registered early years providers must follow the EYFS, including childminders, preschools, nurseries and school reception classes.

The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework supports an integrated approach to early learning and care. It gives all professionals a set of common principles and commitments to deliver quality early education and childcare experiences to all children.

As well as being the core document for all professionals working in the foundation years, the EYFS framework gives mums and dads confidence that regardless of where they choose for their child’s early education, they can be assured that the same statutory commitments and principles will underpin their child’s learning and development experience.

The prime areas of learning in the first 3 years are:

1. Personal, Social and Emotional Development

2. Physical Development

3. Communication and Language Development

The specific areas of learning are literacy, mathematics, understanding of the world, expressive arts and design. Our Educational resources and software support these key areas whilst also incorporating the EYFS. We have recently completed a huge project which included, design, development and installation of children’s interactive education technology for a children’s nursery in Dubai. The technology included interactive walls and floors, bespoke multi touch-tables, augmented reality, interactive storyboards and interactive educational activities. Over the next few articles we will be sharing in more detail key features of the technology and explaining the benefits to children’s learning and development.
